Biography & Experience

Mr. Raymond J. Norton supervises all management and consulting services for Norton Capital Management, Inc.

Mr. Norton graduated from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts.

Mr. Norton’s first position after graduation was serving as an officer in the United States Marine Corps as a helicopter pilot.  As a veteran serving in armed conflicts, he flew hundreds of flights under combat conditions.  For his service, Mr. Norton received numerous awards for valor including the Distinguished Flying Cross. After completing his service, Mr. Norton became an Account Executive with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated. He later joined Shearson Lehman Brothers (which was E.F. Hutton at the time) as a Financial Consultant. After successfully completing a rigorous training program, Mr. Norton was designated a Portfolio Manager. He was promoted to Assistant Vice President and then Vice President. He was later designated a Senior Portfolio Manager. During this time Mr. Norton served as an instructor to new Portfolio Managers and taught students enrolled in Shearson’s Consulting Services Program. He taught asset allocation, bond portfolio management, and risk measurement. He was promoted to Senior Portfolio Management Director. Mr. Norton formed Norton Capital Management, Inc. in May of 1993 and serves as the firm’s President.

The firm’s employees have a broad range of knowledge and years of experience.  The top three  employees by tenure have over one hundred years of combined experience in the financial services industry.
